To build capacity for the care of the older persons, we have rolled out a geriatric care training program.
This is a certificate course for caregivers who will specialize in the care of the older persons. It is a 6-month fulltime course that will incorporate theory and practical experience. Born out of the need identified in our home-based care program, this course is the first of its kind in Kenya
It will not only fill the ever-widening gap in aged care but also offer employment to many youths that could not proceed to the regular tertiary education institutions due to low KCSE marks. The minimum requirements is D- grade.
